Tummy Time ?
Looking for ideas to encourage dd to hold her head up and push up with her hands during tummy time. She lifts/holds her head like a pro if she's laying on our chests or we're sitting her upright but we're lucky if we get one little lift when she's on her mat.
Thanks

She just turned 2 months. She pretty much screams the entire time she's on the mat.

Try propping her upper body on a pillow so she's a little more upright. Also, try other ways beside the mat like using an exercise ball. You can vary how upright she is with that. Also, carry her face down over your forearm to give her another way to practice. A few minutes here and there during the day so it adds up.

Sounds normal. Most babies hate tummy time.
Ability to hold Head up at 45 degree angle is a 2-2.5 month skill, 90 degrees around 3-3.5 months, chest up arm support about 4-4.5 months.
My 5 month old can barely do the chest arm support even though she has awesome head control. She still hates tummy time lol

I agree, she seems to be doing great for her age. Don't get too worked up with tummy time, a couple of minutes 2, or 3 times a day helps a lot. Also wearing ur baby helps tremendously and it has the same benefits of tummy time.

Normal. DS HATED tummy time. Screamed like we were torturing him. He still rolled over by 4 months. Just keep trying, but don't force it. All babies will eventually roll...2 months is still very young for tummy time.

Actually most drs recommend tummy time from the beginning. I wish I knew this with DS1, I started doing it from 2 months and he hated it with passion.

Tummy time from birth but a few minutes throughout the day when they're that little. And tummy time doesn't necessarily have to be on the floor. They can lay on you.

Yes, I know tummy time from birth. But it could be 30 seconds or a minute. Tummy time doesn't have to be long and drawn out. A lot of young babies don't like being on their tummies, especially if they have reflux. My point is 2 months is young to worry about tummy time to teach the baby to roll.
