Tuesday's Gossip
The pressure may be getting to Anne Hathaway.
The "Devil Wears Prada" pixie broke down in tears at Nick & Toni's in the Hamptons Saturday night as she fought with her wealthy and handsome — but controversial — Italian boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, spywitnesses tell us.
"He started telling her off, and she argued back," says our source. "She rushed to the ladies' room twice, once for about five minutes and another time for at least 10 minutes. She apparently composed herself and came back to the table. Follieri paid the check, and they left."
The two have been jackhammered ever since billionaire Ron Burkle sued Follieri for alleged misappropriation of funds in their joint venture to buy and develop property being sold by the Catholic Church. Burkle claimed the 28-year-old businessman spent $1.3 million on a Manhattan penthouse, private jet flights and stays in five-star hotels.
Hathaway, 24, was starry-eyed last July as she and Follieri announced their program to vaccinate children in Nicaragua against hepatitis. This month, they announced plans to expand it to Honduras.
The brunette beauty, who plays a pre-fame Jane Austen in "Becoming Jane," was at ease by the time the couple arrived at the Cinema Society's party for the film at the oceanfront home of Jerry Della Femina and Judy Licht, co-hosted by The Wall Street Journal. The actress was all smiles with guests like Howard Stern, Tiki Barber, Donna Karan, Julia Stiles, Heather Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Kelly Klein and Patrick Demarchelier. Cinema Society founder Andrew Saffir, ever gracious, defended her: "Anne and Raffaello were both at the after-party and very much together. "If she seemed emotional it was because she had not yet seen the film in its entirety, and she found even the little she watched of the opening very moving."
Follieri's spokesman wouldn't comment.

Kimora Lee Simmons was a no-show for the Saturday "Art for Life" gala she was supposed to co-host with Russell Simmons at their East Hampton estate, which they share despite their separation. "Russell had a whole building to himself, and she was to take the another building on their estate so they'd never have to see each other, but she couldn't even handle that," says our source. Her rep tells us that she was busy in L.A., but we hear she was miffed that her ex-hubby ushered his new flame, model Porschla Coleman, into the event. Drama aside, celebs such as Forest Whitaker, Petra Nemcova, Heather Graham, Nia Long and Babyface showed to raise $1.4 million for the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation. Later, Simmons made his way sans Coleman to Star Room for the after-party.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette invited celeb pals for Sunday brunch at their soon-to-be-sold Malibu home, which is on the market for $33.5 million. Our spy spotted a dateless Jennifer Aniston sipping Bloody Marys and mingling with Sacha Baron Cohen and ever-more-pregnant fiancée Isla Fisher, George Clooney, Alexis and Rosanna Arquette, while 3-year-old Coco Arquette toddle-modeled a Wonder Woman swimsuit. "Everyone went inside for good when the paps got there," says our source, who notes that the Cox-Arquettes are looking at pads in the Hollywood Hills for a lower urban- shutterbug density.

Ex-American Idolite Corey Clark was arrested yesterday in Arkansas on drug charges and for an outstanding Arizona warrant. After his disqualification from season two of "Idol" when his criminal record came to light, Clark claimed to have had an affair with judge Paula Abdul — who may have been on his mind when he posed for the most overtly flirtatious D-list mug shot in recent years.

Adam Sandler has been dressing light this summer - specifically on the ring finger of his left hand.
The "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" star has been spotted out twice in the last week without his wedding ring.
Our spy first noticed the bare finger at Tao in Manhattan on Thursday, where Sandler enjoyed a boys' night out at a beach-themed party.
Then we saw it for ourselves on Saturday in East Hampton during the Social @ Ross performance of the Dave Matthews Band.
Sandler and his wife, Jackie, wed in 2003; she gave birth to a baby girl in May of last year. He was wearing his wedding band as recently as July 16, for an appearance on MTV.
Is this an indication things have changed?
No, says his spokeswoman.
"He is filming a movie in New York. Perhaps that is why he hasn't been wearing his ring," she told us. Low blows from axed 'Idol' host
"If wishes came true, Ryan Seacrest would have AIDS."
That show-stopping sentiment was attributed to Seacrest's one-time "American Idol" co-host, Brian Dunkleman, during a "comedy" set at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood.
Dunkelman was let go after the first season, which apparently still rankles him.
The Web site TMZ.com reports Dunkleman followed up that Seacrest "probably already has AIDS."
(All that from one lousy kiss with Teri Hatcher?)
An agent at Dunkleman's talent management told me, "God, that was so blown out of proportion," before transferring my inquiry to an employee who did not call back.

IF Sean Penn ever tires of making movies, he could get a job as a marriage counselor. The surly star was greeting fans outside Skybar at the Shore Club in South Beach, and was spotted offering advice to a bride-to-be who asked him to pose for a photo with her. Spies overheard Penn, who's wed to Robin Wright Penn, very seriously say, "Although love may present some challenges along the way, understanding and working to overcome those challenges makes that love much stronger." Now there's a performance that deserves an Oscar.

THE Lohan family circus gave its latest performance in Long Island Family Court yesterday, when Michael Lohan dropped his demand that estranged wife Dina be tested for drugs before she can have contact with Lindsay's kid sister and brother, Ally and Dakota. Michael told The Post one of the deciding factors came when Ally, 13, told him, "Daddy, I love you. I'll love you more if you'll drop that motion." Later, when Michael followed Dina out of the courtroom and tried to ask her how she was, he was met by an icy silence.
