TSA precheck/govt shutdown

Does anyone know if the TSA precheck application process is being affected by the shutdown? I tried to find online, but only articles about TSA employees (not the application process for precheck) come up... thanks.

I would assume yes and if you happen to get yours in a decent time period I’d look at it as a bonus.

Did you already apply and are looking for the status and/or waiting for your precheck number? Or are you trying to apply? If you want to start a new application, you can still fill that out online and get fingerprinted, but the application will probably stall until the gov't is reopened.

Thanks. I haven’t started the process yet, about to do the online application and just trying to judge whether the next part (in person) would be typical span of time or awhile from now.

I would assume that it would be best to wait. When we applied we filled out the application and made the fingerprint appointment online. We got an appointment for 3 days later. We went and got fingerprinted, and I had my number less than 24 hours later. DH didn’t get his number for 2 weeks. They say it can take 30 days.
