Trying to tone, seeing results

So I have been working out 3 times a week for 4 weeks.

I am upping it to 4 times this week.

I am not looking to lose a ton of weight, sure I would like to lose 10 pounds but my main goal is to tone up.

Doing 40-45 minutes of cardio , 20- 25 minutes of weights abs 3-4 times a weeks....

How long do you think until I see results?

I feel a littler "tighter" so far?

Previously I was working out 2 times a week..

Re: Trying to tone, seeing results

I never really saw great results by doing weight machines at the gym (and I was a member of a regular gym for over 10 years).

Doing exercises using my own body weight has worked for me. I never knew I could feel so sore (good sore though) and get so toned after doing exercises like that.

I go to a CrossFit gym which focuses on strength and conditioning using varied movements (a different Workout of the Day each day) and once I started doing this I was the most toned I'd ever been... and that was only after 2 months, then I got pregnant so I stopped and now i'm getting back into it.

Try doing air squats, jumping squats, vertical jumps, pull-ups, sit-ups (real sit-ups...no crunches), push-ups, dips, burpees, walking lunges, jump rope, box jumps, etc.

The first time I did a workout with air squats, I couldn't walk the next day. Chat Icon I had been working out all my life but never worked my muscles like that!

Here are some "travel workouts" from the site that you can do at home... try some if you can.

Re: Trying to tone, seeing results

I have to agree with Camacho. When I had my personal trainer she made me do exercises using my own weight and I saw more results that way then when using the circuits.

I have to admit though, it wasn't as intense as Camacho's. I got scared just reading it!! -LOL

Whats a burpee?

You start standing and then do a squat and put your hands on the floor, then kick your legs back and do a push up then back to squat and jump up. Hard to explain, but here's a youtube video demonstration:
