Re: trying to locate...
I had posted about traveling with the car seat on the parents board. Maybe it's on there. I will look and bump the thread.

i think i found it. it was an inflatable booster. DD is only 2, so i don't think she can use that yet though. It's ages 4 and up...
we go to chicago next week and planned on doing the train pretty much, and didn't want to bring the car seat because it's too heavy. however, the closest stop to our hotel is still a good 10 min drive away and we will need to hail a cab or take an uber. Uber doesn't offer car seats yet in chicago, so i'm kind of stuck with what to do.

Re: trying to locate...
Look into the cosco seats. I heard they are light and they only cost around $40-$5

it's just not really all that easy to carry around our luggage, push a stroller, get in a train, and carry a car seat for a couple of min drive to the hotel from our train stop. Apparently cab drivers don't all wait around for you to install your car seat, and they just expect you to put them on your lap!

If you use a seat with latch it wouldn't take too long to install.
If it's a 10 minute drive, how long of a walk is it? Might just be easier to walk it.

30 min walk it says... decided we are going to take our car seat and uber from the airport to the hotel, rather than do the train. uber XL is like $60 for the drive, but split 3 ways because we have a group going with us. I think that's worth it to avoid lugging it around lol
