Trying to find a new vehicle that meets all these needs, does it exist?
3rd Row seating fuel efficient and 25,000 or less
We test drove the Traverse, but the gas mileage is insane.
ANy other suggestions that I may not be thinking of?
If we have a third I am going to need to be able to fit 3 car seats, so that's why I am thinking I need the 3rd row seating, but do I really?

I have the Traverse (used to have a Suburban) and I think it's great on gas mileage!
Depending on the car, you CAN fit 3 car seats across 1 row.. I have 3 kids and 2 are in boosters, 1 in a convertible car seat and I have no problems fitting them in one row

look for a used Saturn Outlook. That might fit the bill.

Have you looked at off-lease minivans? You save a ton of money by getting a 2 or 3 year old vehicle.

I went from a mini van to an Explorer and we love it. Its not the best on gas but my mini van wasnt great either. I love that we can take the kids way out on the beach too.

I second used vehicles. I have never bought new.
Opens it up a lot for you. Then yeah, I guess I'd go with the Pilot.

Nope. The Santa Fe would fit the budget and the fuel efficiency, but not the third row seating. The Veracruz has more room, but starts at 29k.
What about different carseats? The Britax and Graco seats are pretty wide, but Radian carseats are more narrow and also rated well for saftey. Getting two or three new seats is still cheaper than a new car.

If that's not an option, ITA with possibly getting something "gently used." A car coming off lease will cost less than something off the lot.

Do you only want new? We just bought a Chrystler Pacifica(2007) and its been great and has all those features. Though I would probably go a used minivan if you will have 3...Many of teh 3rd row SUV seats are not easily accessible especially if you've got 2 other LO's to worry about.
