trying dc's jarred food?!

ds has only had prunes, pears, and carrots so far but yikes the fruit is soo tart and sweet! is it ok to make them more bland tasting with formula and cereal all the time? or will this just make all the food taste too similar?

the carrots are actually yummy though.

please tell me i'm not the only one that tries their dc's food!?

tia!

I wouldn't taste jarred baby food for any amount of money (unless it was custard, I love custard) Thats why I made all my own babyfood...at least I knew what was going in it! I mean, how difficult is it to stew/cook up some fruit and puree it up...

I've tried all the fruits and veggies, but not the meats.

I actually used to buy myself stage 3 bananas, they are very yummy, like a pudding.Chat Icon

It's okay for baby to eat bland foods, i ask my ped about their taste buds, he said we are all born with all of our taste buds we have for the rest of our lives, so babies have them really really close together, so what tastes bland to us is a flavor EXplosion for babiesChat Icon

We make all of DS's food too. IMO, it is easy, more healthy and saves $$$$.

I have used jarred bananas to make banana bread before.Chat Icon Worke dreally well.

Re: trying dc's jarred food?!

I try everything that I give to Taylor. My feeling is, if I expect her to eat it, I should try it as well.
I actually love the fruits. I don't really care for the stage 2 dinners or veggies.
I think I am going to have to learn how to make my own dinners for her.

I've always tried everything I give him. The meat is disgusting but the child eats EVERYTHING!
