Trusting your gut - making big decisions
How do you know when to trust your instincts or "gut feeling" on something? I am so bad at making big decisions and have to make one today (about whether or not to move forward with buying a particular house). My gut is telling me "yes", but I am still afraid to pull the trigger to move forward. I know part of it is the thought that something better will come along, but I also realize that that could always be the case. I have looked at a LOT of houses (was supposed to be buying another one that fell through because the seller was being an ass) and although this one needs some work, there is something about it that just felt "right". UGH! I don't know what to do

I always trust my gut. Always. It has meant that I've experienced amazing things and have gotten out of bad situations.

I always trust my gut... always.
The very few times I "thought" it let me down - in the long run... it was the best decision I'd ever made!

Definitely trust your gut. There's a book, Blink, that talks all about this. It's a good read.

Re: Trusting your gut - making big decisions
BIG decisions come to me easily. It’s those daily grind random ones that I mull over.
I knew from the first date that my dh was the one for me. My wedding dresss I found the first time I looked and ordered it that day. When we found our house, we put an offer down the night we saw it with no hesitations.
Deciding between two pairs of boots at a store however..... forget about it. I could stand there for hours and still leave the store second guessing. Or leave empty handed.

Re: Trusting your gut - making big decisions
I had a lot of reservations about our current house and was thinking just like you "what if something better is out there?" I had not true reason to have reservations about the house, it checked all the boxes for the most part, and, like you, I had looked at dozens of homes. Was there anything better? No! My DH pushed me, I reluctantly went along with it and it was the best thing we did. I love my house so much.
Go with your gut!
