Trouble sleeping
I know that my hormones are out of whack but I just had a complete crying fit because I can't get comfortable in bed. I have a ton of pillows and a body one, and no matter what position I'm in, I'm in pain. I feel like I only gained weight in my belly. My tummy is so tight from and I hate the feel of the comforter and sheets. Restless leg is also bad!! Tell me I'm not alone...what are you all doing to make sleeping a little easier? I'm also on strict bed rest which makes matters worse

Re: Trouble sleeping
The only thing that used to help me was an ice pack. I'd put it on my feet or my back----even if my feet or back didn't hurt. It kind of distracted me from being uncomfortable w/ a huge belly.
Hang in there...it does get better!

Re: Trouble sleeping
You are not alone. I've given up on a comfortable night of sleep about 3 months ago.
I've also had the crying fit because I was so exhausted and just wanted to sleep uninterrupted for more than 2 hours. It feels like a battle I keep losing. It's probably the thing I hate the most about pregnancy. I'm 35.5 wks and I've just accepted I need to deal until the baby comes!

Re: Trouble sleeping
awww.. I def feel your pain. I have not slept in my bed since I was about 17 weeks. I always felt like my belly was too heavy and all the pillows in the world wouldn't help. The heartburn was and is terrible so if i actually do lay down i feel like I have a forest fire in my chest/throat. Now I am constantly getting contractions at night that wake me up and then I have to pee. It doesn't get easier I am not going to lie to you. You will always measure bigger than a woman carrying a single baby so its gonna be rough. Currently I am 34.5 weeks and I am measuring as if I am 43 weeks carrying a single baby.
what I found kinda helps is to sleep on the couch and prop myself up with like 4 or 5 pillows so that Im almost sleeping sitting up.
Good luck hun!!! xoxo

Re: Trouble sleeping
Thanks everyone! I'm 32 wks 1 day and I don't know how I'm going to make it to 38 wks!! My doctor thinks I'm going to make it to the end! I'm going to try sleeping on the living room couch tonight...between the heartburn, going to the bathroom, being uncomfortable with a big belly, I need to get a few hours of sleeping without crying!! LOL

Re: Trouble sleeping
OMG! I can relate Last night was my second night in a row waking up at 2:00am and not being able to go back to sleep. I am also all belly and it is tight. I have one baby sitting on my bladder and sciatic nerve....how did he managed that? I don't know, but it is not fun. My left hip and leg kill me at night. I get up about 4 to 5 times to go to the bathroom. Just to try to get off the bed it takes me about 2 minutes and then when I get back on the bed I can't find a good position for about another 5. After that I have to force myself to sleep. All that is not counting when I get up due to strong kicks, sciatic pain, hot flashes (where I freeze my husband by turning the AC on full force) or just plain insomnia. I have tried the AC and making the room cold as the North Pole, cold bags, plenty of pillows, proped-up, sofa, recliner, eating, hot tea, hot milk, etc....nothing seems to help. I am only 23 weeks!!! My doctor really thinks I will make it to at least 34 weeks. This is my last week at work, so I am hoping to catch up on my sleep during the day

Re: Trouble sleeping
I can relate ..I am only 18 weeks with and already have a hard time getting to sleep and staying a sleep I have ONLY slept on my tummy my entire life, obviously that is not possible now, so trying to get comfortable on my back seems impossible and then when I finally manage to wear myself out and fall asleep, I unconsciously try to roll to my stomach (habit) and wake myself up, this happens at least 20 times a night and if that doesn't get me, the bladder does, sigh. Hang in there, it will all be worth it soon !!!
