Trouble getting back to sleep..
I normally do not have a problem getting my DS to sleep at night. He is usually in his crib by around 8pm. He has been STTN for weeks now. But IF he wakes up, whether he is sick or not, he has a LOT of trouble going back to sleep. I have to hold him for him to sleep at all. He will not go back in the crib or even in the swing. Now last night he woke up at 330 and was hungry (he fell asleep on his last bottle so I was sorta expecting that anyway) but when he woke up and I then fed him, there was NO WAY I was getting him back to sleep. Understandable because he has a cold and is congested. But - even normally, he won't go back to sleep in the crib. I read on here some of you are really lucky and just have to feed the baby and put them back down! Not my Tommy!  Any tips for me getting him to go back in? Should I do the whole routine over again? I mean I do the Fisher Price aquarium, I sit in the glider with him, I put his sleep sack on....should I do this all over again at 330am? KWIM?

Hey Jen!
I am with you. Victor has been really good. I feed him and put him in his crib and he goes to sleep. Brianna, on the other hand, sounds like Tommy. I need HELP also. Nothing really works except me rocking her STANDING UP for about 20 minutes at 3:30am. Sometimes, I just lay her in her crib on her belly (she likes sleeping on her stomach) and put the binky in and pat her butt for awhile...sometimes that doesn't even work.
Sadly, all of this started when she got her first cold..ugh..because she used to STTN.
Sorry, no advice, but wanted to let you know that I am dealing with the same issue.

Oh lord Jo Now he has his first cold too 
All I know is that I cannot function not sleeping at night and going to work in the AM!
Daddy is going to have to step it up !

why not try to feed him a bottle before YOU go to bed??

The thing is, Jess...he normally doesn't need it...we put him down at 8 and he sleeps til 6-7am....
I don't need to wake him up to eat because it is very rare he gets up during the night...we are just off now because of his cold. But I can never get him back to sleep...does that make sense?

yep and he's likely eating less at each serving because he can't breathe through his nose and suck at the same time (emma did that before)....
try sucking out his nose with a bulb before each feeding maybe???

ds, while older at 13 months, has been doing the same thing all week, but also has a nice cold... we were playing blocks at 3 am the other day... normally for me i cio, but he was just too upset... no advice but definitely some sympathy...
