Trips with an infant
DH and I would like to take a short trip with DD in late spring or summer. She will be 9-12 months depending when we go. Any suggestions 4-5 days? We want to go somewhere she will enjoy.

My answer will probably not be helpful to you but...as a mother of an 8yr old, a 6yr old, and a 3 yr old my advice is to go somewhere YOU would enjoy--a baby is happy (or not) wherever they go. Before long, you will have to deal with the "I'm borrrred," or the incessant "Are we almost there???" Trust me!

I agree!
Me too. At that age they are happy where ever - take one last trip that is for you. I suggest just going somewhere baby friendly, but not for kids. We took DD1 to PR when she was a baby - very kid friendly and no passport required.

That age is an easy time to travel.
We've done cruises, Florida, DC, Newport RI & more that I'm forgetting when one kid was that age. Honestly, entertain yourself because DC at that age was entertained with walking more than where we were.
If booking a hotel, a zero entry pool is a must for us (even with a 2 and 3 year old).
Our favorite vacation with little kids is a cruise, that is honestly the easiest & a lot of fun. Also easy for feeding, formula or breast & packing a lot!

We did 2 nights in Newport, RI. We went to dinner, did the 10 mi drive while the girls napped. There wasnt much for them per se but there are beaches and walking around.

We went to Newport when DD was almost 12 months for a few nights and we had a great time. We stayed in a hotel across the street from a beach and it was perfect. We walked around town, did the scenic drive while DD napped also, went to the beach.

If you cruise, you don't need a passport to go to the Bahamas. We have cruised twice with the kids and it has been great. We just went on our second Disney cruise, and they even puree food for the baby for dinner! DD2 is almost 8 months and she was very easy to travel with.

We did 5 days in Kennebunkport over the summer when DD was 8 months. It's beautiful up there, and was about a 5 hour car ride, so not too far. We rented a house with another couple, so had access to a kitchen which definitely helped.
