There are discrepencies of when they actually start, beginning or end of week.
I think first is end of 12 to 14. And second I've read as 27-28.

I too have heard different things. Most of the books I've read say that the 1st trimester ends at the end of your 13th week (so 2nd trimester starts at 14 weeks). But some say that it ends at the end of your 12th week.
