Tricycles - which one do you have? And is a helmet necessary?
DH made fun of me bc I said she'll need one!
DD will be a little over 2.5 this summer and I kinda wanted to get her one as her "Big Sister" gift when #2 comes along...
Any recs?

We have a the kettler go green trike with the parent push bar. DS already had a helmet from his motorized quad so when we take the trike out of the house this spring he will wear the helmet. I got the trike at TRU. I called kettler to purchase the parent push bar. I liked this one because some of the others are so small and I felt like this one could actually be used a little longer.

We bought DD the Kettler Go Green Trike for Christmas, we already had a radio flyer that she doesn't like and she and other kids her age have a hard time riding. Right now I let her ride the Kettler inside sans helmut but when it gets used outside she has to wear a helmut.

I like the Ketler tricycle. Some are pink.
I am going to get the one with the adjustable frame and the push handle.

They had a Radio Flyer Trike. Yes, they wear a helmet as soon as they get on the bike. Even when we used the parent handle bar. It's better to train them now so they get in the habit of wearing a helmet.

absolutely, miki knows when she goes on her razor scooter, roller skates or bikes, step 1 is to put on the helmet

Same here. Got it for DS when he was 2 and he loves it. We also use a helmet.

We got the Radio Flyer with the push bar and so far he seems to like to lift his hands off the wheel when he knows someone is pushing him so I'm definitely getting a helmet for spring!

Start them right away with the habit of putting on a helmet. No helmet, no bike riding is our rule...even for a two year old.
