Trick to Clean Microwave?
I can never remember this, what do you put in the microwave to help loosen gunk and make cleaning it easier?
Is it a cup of vinegar or a cup of lemon water? Also, how long do you let it heat up?
Big mess this afternoon--heated up leftover salmon, and despite the waxed paper on top, it spewed all over.

Well, it's the steam that does most of the work so I'm not sure if it matters.
I use lemon in a bowl of water, nuke for at least 2 minutes until it gets really steamy and there is a lot of water on the door/sides. Then wipe right away.
Viola!

I do the same but with windex instead of lemon

I just put a bowl of vinegar in the microwave. Just be prepared for a strong smell when you open the microwave door - but it works like a dream

I just spray straight fantastic in there and whip it clean. Usually does the trick.

Thanks! I'll try the lemon, though the vinegar might be fine. There's already a strong smell in there from the salmon!

I use vinegar-2 mins like AP said and immediately wipe. It doesn't smell like vinegar after, either

I put a bowl of water in there plus a sponge. The sponge is soaking wet in the bowl, then nuke for 2 mintues. Works awesome!

I nuke a bowl of water with some dish soap in there for a couple of minutes and then wipe.
