Re: Trex decking

We're using a composite decking when we get our large front porch replaced next week. We're using the same guy that did our dormer and bathroom renovations. He's recommending CorrectDeck CX for the decking. It's got a hidden fastner system so you don't see the screws and it's got a finish that helps resist the staining and mildew. Composite decking is lower maintenance than wood and it doesn't need staining, but it's not maintenance free. You still need to sweep/spray/clean occasionally to keep the crud from building up and growing. For the railings we're using the Trex Radiant railings - really nice, look like enameled wood. Send me a message if you want his contact info.

Re: Trex decking

My brother has it and he told me that if he could do it again he wouldn't. Too $$ and his dog already scratched it.

Awesome! How is your experience with them so far? We have been waiting since the end of April for our deck to be built. They claim the weather has held everything up. Did you wait a long time also? They seem to do great work. I'm sure it will be worth the wait but I'm getting antsy!!!

We hired them in April and they just started yesterday. They've been okay so far. They didn't show up today at all, I guess due to rain, but it stopped raining by 11:00, so we're a little annoyed. I'll let you know if we have any issues.

Re: Trex decking

We used composite decking from Home Depot. So far so good. We love how it looks.
