Traveling with a newly potty trained toddler
What does everyone bring when they go shopping with a toddler that is newly potty trained? Any tips, advice or great products you would like to share would be greatly appreciated. I was looking online at disposable toilet seat covers and even plastic folding ones to use (but the reviews are not so great).

The Pottette portable potty. It was recommended to me on here and it's amazing! Fits in my diaper bag, and makes DD comfortable on any toilet OR has the option of being its own potty so she can go in the car.

I never bought anything. Just use a ton of toilet paper like I do for myself (if I even touch it) and tell him not to touch anything.
I always made sure I threw extra underwear and sweatpants in case of an accident.

DD tells me when she has To go, so if we are out shopping, I Bring her right to the public restroom and she goes. If we are out at the park or somewhere a bathroom is not easily accessible, I do keep the Potette in the car, and she will use that.

I make DS go before we leave the house.
In case he does need to go while we are out for awhile I keep the Potette travel potty in my trunk. It can be used as a potty seat, so I don't have to have DS touch anything in the public bathroom.

Potette, extra clothes, and baby wipes (in case of #2), though sometimes I have forgotten the potette, then I just layered toilet paper on the seat and held him enough so he didn't fall in. For the Potette, a lot of the bad reviews seem to be from people who don't know that you have to lock the legs into whatever position you are using. If you are using as a standalone potty, you have the lock the legs in at a 90 degree angle so they don't collapse under your kid. If you are using on top of a big potty, you have to lock them out so they don't move and pinch your kid at the hinge.

We have the same thing and I also carry extra clothes w/underwear in her diaper bag just incase.
We got it on Amazon as it was cheaper than BRU.
we were using one of those fold/compact toilet seats until it fell in a public toilet because DD wiggled. That's when I decided to get the Pottette.

I make her potty before we leave and then I just use the toilet seat cover and help her balance while sitting.

What do you do with the Potette after you use on the public bathroom toilet? Do you clean it off every time before putting it back in your bag?
