Traveling with a 10 month old
We are going to Orlando to stay at a time share with my parents in January. We are excited/concerned about DDs first vacation away
Please help me plan for the trip... What do I do about:
Car seat - car rental company? or should I bring our own?
Crib: Bring the pack and play? What about a mattress?
Toys? Do I bring the bulky toys she loves to play with?
Stroller? Just bring our Zippy? or do I buy a cheaper lighter umbrella stroller?
Highchair/booster seat - we have a booster seat that we keep in the car, do I need to bring this too?
I feel like I have to pack a moving van to bring a 10 month old away for a week am I overthinking this?
Is there a previous thread about this? I've done searches, but the ages are a bit older/younger than 10 months....
Thanks!

Re: Traveling with a 10 month old
We went to Vegas when E was 7 months old.

We brought our own and checked it at the gate. We got the wheels for it and used it as a stroller at the gate - you can borrow it if you want. Mom and Dad had a stroller there, so we didnt need to bring ours.
Crib: Bring the pack and play? What about a mattress?
They also bought a pack and play out there - we just used that. no additional mattress.
Toys? Do I bring the bulky toys she loves to play with?
We didnt bring any.
Stroller? Just bring our Zippy? or do I buy a cheaper lighter umbrella stroller?
I would bring your zippy since it's lightweight and check it at the gate.
Highchair/booster seat - we have a booster seat that we keep in the car, do I need to bring this too?
I would bring it - my parents had one
I feel like I have to pack a moving van to bring a 10 month old away for a week am I overthinking this?
Nope - doing just fine!

I also only packed the formula and diapers we needed to traveling and went to the grocery store/CVS when we got there to get more.

Re: Traveling with a 10 month old
We traveled when DS was 3, 8 and 15 months old, so I will do my best to answer your questions
Car seat - car rental company? or should I bring our own?
We always brought our own carseat. DS was in the infant seat when he was 3 months old and we gate checked that. When we flew when he was 15 months old, we put our Comfortsport (less expensive if it got lost) in a laundry bag in and wrote our last name across it and checked it. That came in handy on the way home.
Crib: Bring the pack and play? What about a mattress?
We've always been provided with a pack and play. But is it a timeshare your parents own? Then I'd buy an inexpensive one when you get there.
Toys? Do I bring the bulky toys she loves to play with?
I would not. I brought books and smaller toys.
Stroller? Just bring our Zippy? or do I buy a cheaper lighter umbrella stroller?
I'd bring your Zippy if she will nap in it, you will want the stroller in the airport, etc.
Highchair/booster seat - we have a booster seat that we keep in the car, do I need to bring this too?
I wouldn't bother. We did bring it on our cruise (DS was 8 months) but it was a pain and took up an entire suitcase. Again, if it is a timeshare, I'd buy one and keep it there.
I feel like I have to pack a moving van to bring a 10 month old away for a week am I overthinking this?
No. It is a lot. But only bring diapers and formula for the trip down and you are going to Florida, so you can always buy stuff if you need it. Cruising was hard b/c we were stuck in a way
