Travel insurance
Can anyone recommend a travel insurance company?
We're planning a high activity trip to the Galapagos Islands that is $$$ so we'd like to get some type of travel insurance. There are so many companies that I would like to hear some personal experiences.
TIA!

Re: Travel insurance
Lucky! I'd love to see the Galapagos!
We used CSA for a trip to South America a few years ago. I didn't need to contact them for any claims (thankfully!) so I can't really comment too much. But the price was good and it was easy to buy online.
I did a lot of research, and it boiled down to there not being much difference between the big companies like CSA, TravelGuard, etc. So we picked CSA based on price alone.

Re: Travel insurance
I don't know if you can buy the insurance without booking through them, but when I book through American Express (Travel Tom is my TA) I get "cancel for any reason" insurance that costs $100 pp. I can literally cancel because my DH can't find his socks and get my money back, including airfare. I can cancel up to one hour before the flight takes off.

Re: Travel insurance
Thanks.
I am most concerned about the Medivac and cancellation clauses. If something bad happens I dont want to be stuck on the Galapagos without medical care, or be stuck with a 100,000 dollar bill for the Medivac to a hospital in Ecuador/Miami.
