Travel agents
Do you feel you spend less through a travel agent or do you wind up spending more paying the travel agent.

Travel agents
Less or the same but the value is more. Like upgrades and special perks bc of their contracts with properties or connections.
And I was one so I know the other side.

Re: Travel agents
Travel agents generally are free. So it doesn't hurt to look into using one. I try to price out a bit of what I want first to get an idea of pricing. They are good if you have no time to plan or dealing with an area you are unfamiliar with. Like booking large vacations. I wouldn't use one for a weekend trip. But a large trip to an unfamiliar place or to get some extra perks (cruises are one where a TA might offer some additional perks even if the price is the same).

Re: Travel agents
I have just used a travel agent for an upcoming cruise and I got the same price as if I booked with the cruiseline myself BUT was given a large amount of on board credit. She also is doing more of the legwork that I normally would do.
