Travel & powdered formula ?
Those who travelled via airplane and use powdered formula, did you mix the bottle prior to boarding the plane and keep them cold? Or did you bring water filled bottles and made them as you needed?
All these TSA rules are so confusing. I don't know if Emilia would drink RTF formula because she never has, and she also doesn't like it cold.

Re: Travel & powdered formula ?
I bought the water after I went through security. Then mixed as needed on the plane.

Re: Travel & powdered formula ?
I just flew to Mexico. You can have the bottles ready with you b4 security! Just only bring as many as you need for the duration of your flight/s.
I had 4 bottles with me.... 3 (8oz) prepped with her RC for her reflux, and one (9oz) strictly with milk for her oatmeal and one fruit jar.

Re: Travel & powdered formula ?
I brought the powder (bought a small container so they wouldn't question what it was) and bought water at the airport after we went through security. I didn't want to bother dragging ice packs around.
You can premix them though and no one is supposed to ask you to drink it! I just didn't want the hassle of bringing more stuff.

you can bring water with you if you are traveling with and infant so that you can make the formula.

I believe it's only 3 ounces per container, and I had to dump mine coming back since it was more, so I wouldn't count on that plan.

You can not travel with more then 3oz of water in each bottle.
Just bring the powder and once past security buy room temp. water. The news stand stores will have it behind the counter.
I bring an entire can because you never know what will happen.

Re: Travel & powdered formula ?
A pp said she brought 4-8oz filled bottles with her. Obviously you can travel with more than 3oz if it is in a baby bottle. She said she had 3-8oz formula bottles and one 8oz. water bottle.
I would call the airport and ask them directly. It seems everyone here has had a different experience.
I am traveling next week and worried about the same thing. I am bringing extra too in case of delays.

You can bring more than 3 ounces of already prepared formula. It's the water you will run into a problem with. It's right on the TSA website. I guess each security screener interpret's the rules differently though.

I would check but I fly in and out of Islip about once every 2 months and they make me mix my water so its formula at security.
Even if it's in a baby bottle they wont let me through.
