Trapping a cat - please don’t move

My 10 year old cat ran away about 6 months ago. I saw him a couple of days later then he dissapeared. Came home yesterday and he was sitting on my lawn but ran when I approached.

The Vet lent me a trap and I put cat food in it but it froze overnight.

Any suggestions or tips on trapping him?

Did you use dry food? Throw some tuna in there, but also some dry food.

I'm so sorry; I hope your kitty comes back.

You can try catnip and clothing/toys with your scent or your cat's scent on them...the cat's litter as well.

I hope so, too! I lost a cat once and it was really hard. It turned out that he was behind my landlord’s couch for 3 days, but don’t give up hope. You saw him, so that’s a good sign. Tons of hugs for you Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Put his litter box outside your door and some food. They smell it and come home. Good Luck!

What about getting an insulated bowl . I thought i read somewhere that it helps the food and water not freeze in colder temps.

Thank you everyone. Caught a cat only it wasn’t my cat. His ear was tipped so the Vet told me to release him. Resetting the trap.
