Transitioning to bathtub.......

Any helpful tips on how to transition to the "big girl" bathtub? For the past month, DD (who is 9 months) has been bathing in a large plastic tub within the actual ceramic tub in our bathroom. She loves bath time. Now that she's crawling and standing up (not unassisted yet, but pulling up on things), the plastic tub isn't cutting it anymore. She's trying to stand it, crawl, turn around, etc. Tonight was the second time in the actual tub and I *think* its going well but she had a major freak out each night when I started to wash her hair, which was never an issue in other tub. I didn't get water in her eyes and she's totally used to getting her head soaked with our shower head want attachment. Is this just a phase until she gets used to being in the larger tub? I'd appreciate any helpful advice you can give. Thanks!

Transitioning to bathtub.......

It was around that time I switched to the primo euro tub. It was great and the perfect transition tub before going straight into the regular tub.

The Primo Euro tub is actually the plastic tub I was referring to. We used that from about 4-9 months and while she still fits in it, she's getting too mobile and curious to stay contained in it. She's keeps trying to crawl across the tub and ramming the little plastic barrier piece into her crotch. Ouch!

I used a tub for DS1 for a few months, once he was too big for it, I bathed him in the kitchen sink (my mom used to do that with all her grandchildren.) Then when he learned to walk, I'd just bathe him in our tub, but we always made sure to use one of those bath tub mats.

Transitioning to bathtub.......

We just went straight to the regular tub after the plastic tub. She did well with the transition but hates getting water poured on her head. It's been like that for a little over a year now. We just try to do that part as quickly as possible.

Same here. We transitioned at 11 months. He HATES water poured over his head so I just soap him up at the very end and quickly dump water over his head twice.

We always just used a bath lounger type thing in the regular tub from day 1. I think the brand is angelcare? At 16 months, He mostly sits on a rubber mat now in the tub but I still make him sit in the lounger when I have to rinse his hair and wash his feet. I've also heard of other moms using a laundry basket in the tub for them to sit in before they are big enough to sit without anything

Same for my DS. I wash his hair first so he can get back to playing.
