we are going to try to put the twins in their cribs!

is it better to start with naps or go straight for bed time

also should they be awake,sleepy and out like a light

any other tips i would love to hear

We put DS in his crib at night only. We just tried it one night. We put him in awake and he usually can fall asleep on his own. Lately (since he can flip onto his belly) he moves around so much, he needs to me to hold him until he falls asleep.

Mine sleep just finr at night but still nap like crap in the crib. If I need them to take a good nap I still use the swings.

I had tried unsuccessfully for weeks at nap time, and I thought she never would sleep in her crib. Then out of necessity, bc the RnP was getting dangerous for her to be in, I had to put her in there at night. I was braced for the worst, but she slept all through the night. So for, us nighttime was MUCH easier. I put her down asleep, which is a habit I am now going to have to try to break, so IDK what to tell you there. Good luck!

For some reason I think it's much easier to put them down at night vs. for a nap. I did CIO...tried first at nap time and it was a disaster. Tried two weeks later at bedtime and after 2 rough nights she got the hang of it. DD goes down awake after a book and some songs and doesn't fuss for the most part.

We did night time only. Sometimes when we give her her last bottle she will pass out right after. We just hold her about 10 mins then put her down. Now she will either be asleep or half asleep when we put her down.

Mine are awake but tired becaused they are cranky or rub their eyes. Eat about 7:30, bed at 8:15. Crib toys on (rainforest/glow worm), white noise with the projector (its broken so its really just a night light). Usually no paci unless they are crying or looking for it or teething a bit.

DS napped anywhere due to being in different places depending on who was watching him so he never had an issue napping in the crib. Nighttime was an entire different story.

I would go for nighttime. As for asleep or awake. I am not a good person to ask cause DS is a goooo goooo gooo kid and then bam asleep so he is runnign around one minute and sleepign the next so he almost always get put in his crib alseep.

I also refuse to force a bedtime on him.

I thought I would try putting my dc in to nap to get her used tl it but as soon as she would go down she would wake up. I was bracing myself for the worst when it came to night time. But she did great! Loves her crib and now naps in there. Just gotta go for it and see what happens.

Ive always put her down already asleep just always been that way since shes an infant. Ive put her down slightly awake once in a blue. Skmetimes she cries and others shes fine. Moreso than not shes asleep.

I would also suggest keep your normal night time routine dont changr anything then just put her in her crib.

we just transitioned on friday (from the RNP)

we went cold turkey. She has reflux and I've tried to nap her in there with a wedge but she wiggles around even swaddled and slides down so this past friday we just put her in, sleepy but not fully asleep - no wedge, just swaddled and she did great! She did fuss 2-3 times and I gave her a paci but she slept 9pm-630am.

My kids are in daycare full time so by the time we get home at 545, DD (13w) is exhausted. I feed her and put her in her bouncer in the kitchen with us while we eat, hangout etc. She usually falls asleep and I let her sleep. When she wakes (usually 8-830) I take her upstairs and do her bedtime routine. Wipe her down or bath, bottle, rock a few minutes and into the crib. Seems to work!

I started with naps around 8 weeks. I let DD do her first nap of the day in the swing so she had a good start to the day, then did her 2nd or 3rd nap in the crib. I would wait till she was sleepy, then give her some cuddles and put her down. For the first few times I stayed in the room and read or folded laundry so she knew I was there but I wasn't right over her either. We kept at it and she went down easier each day. Within a few weeks she was in the crib for all naps and night. For night, I started by moving her into the crib in the middle of the night after she woke and she would sleep the rest of the night in the crib.

I started just at night. I tried a nap one day and he wasn't having it. So I just put him in one night after he fell asleep nursing and never looked back! He went into the crib in his own room at 7 weeks.
