Toys r us vent!
Since when do they not take back unopened toys with out a receipt? Bella got 3 tea sets (the same one) and 2 Noah arc little people sets and NO ONE gave me a gift receipt  . So, I went to toys r us today (yes, I asked where they got it and if they had the receipt-of course not!) and they all said Toys r us. The woman was really bi tc hy about this when I asked her about thier new policy. Does anyone know where I can go to return these toys with out a receipt? That's what the lady suggested!

we have had the same problem many times...it stinks. I was stuck with them and just gave them away.

Kmart, Walmart, Kohls has a great policy and carry some toys. BRU takes back without a receipt too, at least last time i was there.
Target will take back without a receipt, but you can only return 2 things per your ID per year and then you have to buy things with that credit that day or you lose it.
TRU is awful now! Most of the time now i just hold on to doubles and give em away or donate them.

I don't know when it started, but my husband refused to allow me to buy Christmas presents at TRU this year because of that policy.
It's a huge turn-off.

Of course it would be sooner or later they adapted TRU's same awful Return policy.

Walmart might take it back. I was able to return a few things there this past holiday without receipts. I think TRU has that policy for at least a year or so. I remember being able to return a gift my daughter received for her birthday when she was 2 and she's 3 1/2 now. A few months later by the time byt sons bday came, they were no longer allowing it.
I honestly can understand why they do it though even though it does s*ck. I mean, they want the stuff out, not back in inventory. And if it was purchased elsewhere, they could potentially be overstocked with items, especially at the holidays that never came from their store to begin with. I don't like it but I can understand it.
I always give gift receipts bc when you don't, it's the gift receiver and giver that lose out, not the stores. I wish everyone would.

See if Target or Walmart sells those items...I returned a few items after Christmas to those 2 stores and I didn't have a receipt

Good luck. I had an unopened learning table that was broken. My sister in law could not find the receipt for the life of her and they refused to replace the darn thing.
I had a problem at WalMart. I tried to return something there without a receipt. She scanned the item and said it wasn't from their store and they could not take it back. They might have different UPC codes on the box. I just played stupid and blamed it on my husband.

It's a horrible policy
BRU is starting to pilot it in some of their stores. I've returned so much to them already!
At this point I want to boycott TRU, but they do have more of a selection than Target or Walmart.
