Toys for 16 month old boy
DS doesn't engage with many toys for his age range (and admittedly they even seem a bit to babyish for me) but as I get to the older toys I have to be careful bc he's still into putting things in his mouth. Of course I don't leave him alone, but still. ie: he LOVES to color but I have to sit right in front of him else he ends up with blue teeth So what are/was your DS favorite toy at this age? Every time I go to the toy store I feel like I'm seeing the same things - want to get somethnig new/engaging He has legos, musical instruments, coloring books, M&D puzzles, playhouse, trucks and cars, balls, etc - and has lost interested in most except for trucks and balls.

Re: Toys for 16 month old boy
i'm in the same boat as you with my 15 mo. If you can play outdoors, mine LOVES bubbles and the water table. Indoors he is into wood blocks and the toy kitchen (not so much the kitchen, but the pots, pans, spoons and fake foods). He also likes to play with his sister's dollhouse...but i think part of that may be that he just wants ANYTHING she wants.

Toys for 16 month old boy
My 16 month old DS likes to play with trucks, cars, ride on toys, bubbles, and chalk.
Even though he has like a million toys, he usually is most content playing with tupperware and boxes. They could literally keep him entertained for hours. His new favorite thing to play with is the rolling pin; he discovered it 2-3 days ago and he is amazed by it.
Since the weather is nice, we go to the park or pool pretty much every day. If he could, he would live in the swing... He also just likes running around like a maniac (while I chase him) in the backyard or in the house.

At 16 months DS was still "finding his way" so to speak with toys. He started getting more interested in toys at closer to 2 years. He's 2.5 yo now and LOVES cars, trucks, trains, blocks, anything outside, bubbles, etc. Give it time and just keep offering!

I was in the same boat until i bought toys from Battat and Tolo. I noticed these two brands in a speech therapy video my son watches and figured i would try them out. So far, he seems very entertained (even after having them for a few months).
