Toys/activites for awake time with infant

my son is almost 6 weeks. he is extremely fussy from 7-10 every night. Im looking for toys that will keep this age's attention. we have the gymini and he likes it, for about 10-15 mintues.

My DC is 6 weeks also - and that is generally his fussy time too.

We have a few toys, but really he isn't into much yet.

We have one lamaze tummy time mat, and he has a light up stuffed toy that he likes. We also try to entertain him with the fisher price aquarium. Really he is best if you just hold him, walk him around and talk to him. I'm sure we will get more use out of the toys later.

BTW - is your infant sleeping well? We are having sleep issues. I know it's normal - I'm just looking for some moral support. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hmmmm...I am trying to remember - it's so amazing how you think at the time you will never forget these things but you do so fast!

The first "toys" that my DS LOVED were mirrors - anything with a mirror - his absolute favorite first toy was this:

Not too bad. At most, he is up twice a night to feed. I cant complain.

Thanks for the suggestions. We just went for a walk and he is wide awake. Its going to be a long night.Chat Icon

I also recommend the Sassy Mirror toy. That really helped keep my DD interested in tummy time.

Also Sassy makes so many great little toy that we used at that age --- little rattles and musical instruments, like rattles shaped like phones, a litte 3 key piano with lights and songs, and DD would hold onto them, shake them, etc.
