I have learned something recently from my *ahem* mother, if the baby wakes up and you try to put them down, keep rocking them in the crib...so pat their tushies so they keep feeling rocked.  That worked really well for us, I was picking Noah up everytime he made a peep, but I realised quickly that if I just make like I am rocking him still, he will go back to sleep...

We can do it if we let her sleep long enough to really be out and DH says the key is to keep her moving so we keep rocking her while we walk her up the stairs.
