I would say no...it could be a choking hazard. The baby could get caught up in the netting, etc. Very adorable but not safe (or practical).
Maybe get one of them when she's a little older for over the twin bed?

That fabric would be right down my little boys throat within seconds. A few weeks ago he was chewing on a muslin and inhaled it....he threw up loads and it was really scary.
I would say its inappropriate for a baby's room, but okay for maybe a 6/7 year old. Any younger than that, its dangerous
And I let my kid fall off the sofa the other day,so super mom I'm not...

unless there is a high risk of the baby getting attacked by flying bugs, I'd say no to the canopy. 
While very cute, I think it could turn into a safety hazard as the baby gets older.
Unless of course, those dam flying bugs are around.

Well my friend had something similar for her daughter and at night or when the baby was sleeping in the crib the material was pulled back behind the crib and tied together with a twist tie.

I actually thought the same exact thing when I looked at the pic -
I don't like it at all, not my style. But forgetting about that part, I too would also be concerned abut the safety of it
