ok - i know many experience constipation when pg. i am not experiencing that, but it does seem like it's taking a lot more work to get the job done so much so that afterwards i felt a strange pain like feeling up thru my vaginal canal. it was only for a few moments but is this normal? i warned you about tmi! maybe using somewhat of the same muscles so putting some strain on it?

I have that pain up in there too, feels like it comes from your cervix? I asked my dr about that he told me it's the pressure of your growing uterus and baby on the cervix.
I know that pg constipation stinks, I myself are in the throws of it :) Just make sure you drink enough water, and try to eat fiber rich foods. My biggest advice, go when your body tells you it needs to so you don't have to strain.

It can be your pre-natals with iron...iron will do this to you. Avoid bananas and rice as they are "binding" foods. Prune juice can really help but the taste IMO is awful. You can avoid the iron in your pills by getting non-iron prenatals and eating spinach and other iron rich foods.

Yes - cervix area is right sweetness. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thanks girls! I sure hope it does pass! And thanks for the tips on colace and foods not to eat. Will definitely add that to my list!

use colace...it's safe and VERY effective...
and don't worry, it will pass...literally

I agree about the colace. I would have never gotten through my first trimester without it.
