Toughest week so far....

So I have been crampy all week..and I didn't think much of it since we had out level 2 on Monday and was totally fine. Then on Wednesday night, I had severe left sided pain on my ride home from work. I wrote it off as just another one of pregnancy's gifts. It got worse and worse as the night went on and I was literally up all night with this pain. At its worst, I couldn't bend, lift my left leg, or lay on either side. So around 6 AM I paged my OB who told me to go to labor and delivery ASAP.

Once we got there, they checked and she was still fine (yay!). Then the rest of the day (9 hours) was spent trying to diagnose me. They assumed it was a twisted ovary or a ruptured cyst because of my medical history or cysts. After 3 ultrasounds because no one could find my ovaries...the tech finally found them and they were fine! In fact, the cysts I had throughout this pregnancy were gone. Meanwhile, I will still in intense pain.

So turns out...the whole time it was severe round ligament pain. I have been reading about round ligament pain for so long, I had no idea it was this horrible! In my case, it was made much worse because of old scar tissue from a previous surgery to repair a ruptured cyst and stop internal bleeding. Turns out, my scar tissue is stretching and tearing right along with round ligament pain. Its horrible!! Theres nothing to do for it but rest and take tylenol.

Yesterday I was feeling a iil bit better, and then today I woke up and it was on my right side! Now I can barely move my right leg (because it hurts my abdomen), walk without pain, or lay on either side.

I seriously cannot wait for this part to be over!!! Anyone else have a pain like this?

Oh wow! That's scary but I'm so glad it turned out ok. Glad you know what it is, but that really stinks to be in so much pain. Hopefully it will begin to subside. I've been getting pretty crampy too lately. People have said it means I need to drink more, but I drink 5 bottles of water a day as it is. How much can we possibly drink? Feel better!!

glad that's all it was! I hope it goes away soon! I had this at like 16/17 weeks & it was also during the night... it was excrutiating! I couldnt move, i was wailing in pain! Then I got it again around 19 weeks.... I realized I get it after I exert myself too much (the first time I was putting "skinny" clothes away in bins, the 2nd time i was putting up Christmas decorations) Hope your pain goes away & stays away!!!!!
