Totally forgot I need centerpieces!! Help!
I totally forgot about centerpieces!!
DC baptism is 2 weeks away - what can I get that wont be too expensive, easy to transport to the location and somewhat colorful (the tableclothes and chair covers will be white - I want something to break up all the whiteness. THe napkins will be blue)
Im thinking either:
a) get inexpensive vases (dollar store or target?) and buying bouquets at the supermarket the day before
or
b) buying inexpensive square vases and getting blue marbles or rocks (at Michaels) and putting a white candle on top of the rocks inside the vase.
Any opinions on my ideas, or any suggestions? Thanks!!

Just get mylar/latex balloons from $$$ store. I wouldn't stress over it. Make it easy for youself. If you start spending money on vases & rocks etc that can get costly. THen what will you do with it when the day is over?

ANother option is to go to michael's & find a nice flower pot but how ever many you need & just plant a flower in it that is in season. Maybe mums?? Whatever is coming out now.

If you do balloons, check out where you plan to get them in advance. I was just at a shower where the host said they were only allowed to purchase a limited number of balloons (I think it was 5) because of a helium shortage. Sounds crazy and I don't know if it's everywhere, but I wouldn't want to find out the day of that you can't get them.

I did Mums. I just covered the planter part in silver wrapping and tied a Pink ribbon around it.
ETA: Her Christening was in Oct, so I felt Mums fit in perfectly with the season

I gave out african violets as a favor and also used them as the centerpiece and they looked great. They only cost a few dollars a plant so if you got 2-3 per table it should be relatively inexpensive.
