Torn -deciding how many blasts to transfer

I'm getting ready for my second Natural FET next week. We have (3) five days blasts remaining.

My Dr recommends transferring all three. My DH and I are struggling with the decision. One day we say "ALL THREE!", the next day "NO WAY - ONLY TWO!".

Any thoughts? Chat Icon

Re: Torn -deciding how many blasts to transfer

I was going through the same thing yesterday when we did our first transfer. There were 6 embryos, 2 compacting, 2, 8 cell GAA, 1, 7 cell GAA and one that was still dividing. The RE was like "go for it" and, of course, I told him he was nuts and went with the 3 best ones. I am scared for multiples, but at this point whatever it is, it is. Do what you and DH feel comfortable with.
Good Luck

I think it really depends on your age & how good they look.

I know three people who transferred three:

1. The first transferred three each time of three and only got pregnant with one baby the last time. She was older.

2. The second person transferred three (but I don't think the three looked so great). She got pregnant with one. She was young.

3. The third transferred three and got pregnant with three. She was young & did this a long time ago (6 or 7 yrs ago).

I was told that because I was young, I should transfer a MAX of 2. (the numbers work out the best this way). I only got pregnant with one. My 2 embies really looked different though: one was "much better" than the other. Have 2 more in the freezer.

I still have to talk to DH about this, but if it were just my decision, I would go for it. All 3 for me!

Good luck with your decision.

I'd go for all 3 if they survive the thaw.

If all three survive, then I would transfer all three.....
