toothache and 7 months pregant! HELP

I think i lost part of a filling i am not sure. i swear i have never had a toothache before and this is horroble. I also have abad cold and i am hoping maybe it could be sinuses affected my teeth area. Can you get novicane while pregnat if it does in fact turn out to be a broken filling?

i believe there is a shot they can give you that is not harmful to the baby - it just doesn't work as long as novacaine does. ask your dentist but DEFINITELY go ASAP - this is not something you want to play around with while pregnant, it can lead to an infection. hope you feel better!! Chat Icon

I've had extensive dental work during my pregnancy. (my front tooth had a very bad infection so it needed to be pulled and an implant placed) Yes they can give you a shot of a low-dose novicane. They can also take an xray as its not focused on your abdomen and as long as you are comfortable with it. They put two of the covers over me when they took the xray (one was apparently made specifically for pregnant women)

Hope you feel better....

Yes you can get novecane while pregnant. I just had a root canal done the other day. They gave me a different type of novecane they use for pregnant people. You need to have it done if it bothers you. Toothache pain is the worst.
