Too much excitement for one day
So I knew it wasn't good when I saw my doctor calling today, but I assumed she was calling to say that I failed my glucose tolerance test (which I did).
But last week I was having bad lower abdominal pains and went to the doctor. She said it was a bladder infection, gave me antibiotics and ran some other tests to make sure all was ok.
Well apparently my fFN test was positive, which indicates a higher risk for pre-term labor she sent me to L&D for monitoring and a shot to mature the baby's lungs. I have to go back tomorrow for a 2nd shot and more monitoring. Has anyone had experience with this?
I am very nervous.

I was having cramping in my lower abdomen for months - i told my Dr. and he tested me for a bladder infection. I did have one months ago when I first complained of pain, and he put me on medication. When i got tested again to make sure it was gone, it was - but I still had abdominal cramping. My cervix measurements had been low in the early stages of my pregnancy - but not signifcantly low, so the dr was just keeping an eye on it every few months.
I went last week to get my cervix measured, and turns out it dropped significantly (2.5 cm - i was 26 weeks). The Dr. now has me on moderate bedrest and i have to get my cervix measured and get the fFN test every other Wednesday. Wednesday will be my first fFN test so I'm not sure yet if I will fail or pass that. The dr. said if my measurements get any lower or if I fail the fFN test I'll be in the same boat as you. I also still have to take the glucose test as well ( tomorrow). I'm sorry for the news and hope everything works out! How many weeks are you?

Did they get cervix measurements of you with the fFN as well?

They didn't get cervix measurements from me. They seemed appeased that I wasn't having contractions today and my doctor had checked on Thursday and I wasn't dilated.
I am just so nervous.... I am not even 28 weeks yet, so as soon as she told me to go to L&D, I started freaking out.
Ugh, I am sorry you are going through this, too!! I hope your test comes back negative

Hope you pass your next fFN! GL and i'm sorry you're going through this :( I know how it feels to just be scared!! 
Google is my enemy too!! DH hates that i look at it all day and google this crap !

I wouldnt worry about the ffn test too much... When I was around 30w, I went in when I had some fluid I throught was my water... They did the ffn and it came back positive... I didnt end up delivering my dd until 40w5d, after being induced! My dr told me false positives are very common, Im surprised your dr didnt tell you the same. Hope everything is fine!

Thank you for sharing this!!!! My doctor didn't talk to me long, just told me to go to Hospital. I am going to call her in the morning for more information.

I had a postive FFN with preterm contractions and made it to full term. I was told a negative is negative, a positive could be false.

Thanks for all your prayers and hugs, ladies! I gave LO a stern talking to last night and told him he is grounded for life if he shows up before my baby shower in mid- April
