Toilet training questions!

Dd is 2.5 years. Today was day 2 of a sort-of-modified 3 day training (I'm using the "oh crap" book).

Anyways, she did great yesterday (bare-bottomed) and today (loose shorts). Just one accident today. The issue I'm having is that she is peeing every 45 minutes. Sometimes with me prompting, and sometimes as we are approaching the 45-minute mark, she will run herself into the bathroom, yelling she's got to go pee-pee. She goes every time.

So, my questions are:
1). At what point do I lay off of the prompting a little and trust her to judge for herself (obviously with occasional prompting)

2) is urinating this frequently common? Will she eventually hold it longer? How can I take her anywhere if I know she has to go every 40-45 minutes?!

TIA!

Maybe she's just nervous about having an accident? I would lay off asking tomorrow and see what happens. Just remind her to tell you and see how she does. If she legitimately has to go every 45 minutes that's a big issue. Maybe even see what happens if you try to distract her a bit, will it lead to an accident or can she actually hold it longer? I know you don't want to lead her into an accident but maybe she needs see that she doesn't need to go as often.

Re: Toilet training questions!

When my DD was first potty training/trained, she would go very frequently too. It was a novelty, a new skill to show off, and of course she loved the excitement and praise it brought. It'll wear off. Now I have to practically force her to use the bathroom bc she never wants to take a break from whatever else she's doing to go! Good luck and congrats!
