we went to see a show at radio city and they sat on our laps
didn't like it but it's what people do there every day

We live in the city and ride cabs all the time. We never use a car seat. You just hold DC in your lap.

We also ride the bus a lot. DS loves riding the bus.

That's what I used to do to although I always avoided them when possible. I'd seat belt us both in.

We put DD on our lap last year when we went to see the Christmas Spectacular. Totally not what I'd do any other time, but it just seems what you do in the city!

They actually are taking the subway now! I just mapped their entire route, I'm a nutcase

We try to avoid taking them - we can walk most places and sometimes use public transportation for the few places we can't walk to.

There is no carseat law for cabs in NYC. I have had so many close calls being in cabs that either got into fender benders or had near misses. When I lived in the city I accepted it as part of life but now with my son I am hesitant. Now that he is a bigger toddler I might take a cab but I def. did not want to when he was younger. The subway platforms will scare me as well but I want my son to see all that the city has to offer!!!!!
