Toddlers--from crib to bed question
Couple of questions...
1. We have a full size bed in DD's room in addition to her crib. So when she switches, is it ok to use a full size bed? And just put those rail/mesh things on the side? One side of the bed is against a wall, is that safe?
2. When did you switch your DC? How did you know?
3. Is being excited for new bedding a good reason to switch?? J/K Seriously though, I can't wait to use her new bedding

Re: Toddlers--from crib to bed question
We went from crib to twin size bed when ds was just over 2.5yo. We have a bedrail on one side (I got the extra tall/extra long one at BRU) and its against the wall on the other side.
He had no issues with the move! We just made a big deal out of it, let him pick his new bedding etc. If the bed is against the wall and your DC is like mine and moves all night long in their sleep, I suggest a body pillow as well!

Re: Toddlers--from crib to bed question
DD was 2 months away from being 3 when we switched her from crib to a full size bed. I would have switched her a little earlier but DH didn't want to since she was still so content in the crib. She had no issues transferring.

Re: Toddlers--from crib to bed question
We moved DS crib and dresser into a new room and replaced it with a twin bed and new dresser the same day.
I just hyped up the fact that he was a big boy and getting a big boy bed.
I have the bed rails on both sides even though it is against a wall. I found the frame makes it impossible for the mattress to be flush against the wall and I was afraid of DS getting pinned between the bed and mattress.
We moved him 3 months after his 2nd birthday.
eta- we had no problems with the transfer.
