Toddler with maybe flu

I *think* my 2-year-old might have the flu. Do I take her to the doctor? Will they give her something or just tell me to make sure she gets lots of rest and fluids?

With a fever I'd definitely go to the doc. Even really run down and not themselves, very tired and flushed cheeks go to see a doc.
For a runny nose, a little out of it, no fever, and tired then no doc. Use Vicks, ibuprofen, fluids, lots of rest, etc

Is it a fever?
They can test for flu with a nasal swab at the ped.
NOt sure what they will do for it, but if they have a fever you should always go.
Could be an ear infection with no symptoms that needs meds

If she has a fever and if the nose swab comes back positive you may get ThermaFlu (good for ages 1 and up) to knock it out but you can only use it if its within the first two days. So Yeah I'd take her in.

I thought DD might have the flu two weeks ago, really high fever, cough, body aches, sleepy, but it was just an awful awful cold. It only lasted 4 days. I didn't take her in, but I woudln't have given TamiFlu if she did have it, so I figured it was pointless. That said my dad is a ped and he told me not to bother coming in unless it's been more than 3 days or her cough impacts her breathing. He did come over to see her, so maybe that counts as a ped visit? Honestly, I feel like when their immune system is already compromised with a virus taking them to the ped makes it worse.

I ended up calling the ped and talking to them and the doc said it's probably a cold. No full-blown fever, just warm (and less so today than yesterday, when it started).
