toddler classes- not gymboree
Looking for a gymnastics-type class for DD, but I'm not really into gymboree or kidville or anything like that. I want less "circle-time" and more actual tumbling and things like that. I've found a lot of those classes are geared a little more for babies, and not for kids close to 2 years old.. Are there any places by me like this and aren't too expensive? I'm in Western Nassau

The Rockville Centre Recreation Center has classes. I haven't actually tried one, but I thought they looked fun.

Kidville is mostly free play. They only do circle time at the beginning and end of the class. It's like 5-10 mins of a 45 minute class.

Little gym does spend a good amount of the 45 min. Class doing circle time. Just did a trial there and it frustrated my ds (and me) bc he just wanted to go climb and play on the equipment, not sit in a circle for 15 min!

I would look into gymnastic places by you, also, if you have one of those trampoline places, they may have something the one near me has a tumbling class. I believe places like gold metal may have something! I’ve done little gym, when they were younger and it was a bunch of movement in a circle but they liked it, but they were only like 8 months old so it may be different for age 2. I can’t say anything about the programs as they get older as we stopped going and they now do swimming and a Mommy and me at a pre school

When I looked at gymnastics places most started at 18 months so I can’t imagine they have many potty trained kids.
Several of the kids in DD’s ballet class are still in diapers and I only know this because the moms talk about it otherwise no one would have any way of knowing who had a diaper on and who didn’t.

For the mommy and me classes they would not need to be potty trained. I know at my gymnastics place they start at 3 and they need to be fully potty trained.
