Toddler boy moms - potty training questions....

Yesterday afternoon, James found his underear in his closet and very sinply said "I want to wear this". We had made a big deal out of it when the Easter Bunny had brought underwear, but he had no interest in wearing it.

He goes on the potty every night before his bath - had never gone at any other time during the day.

DH put the underwear on him and James declared "This is comfy!!!" He was accident free for about 6 hours with one little slip. He threw a fit when we tried to put a diaper back on him. We put him on the potty every half-hour/45 minutes and he went consistently every time.

My questions:

1) This morning, he asked to wear a diaper to school and told me that he wanted to wear underwear when he got home this afternoon. I don't trust him enough to go to school in just underwear - i feel like this is too new. he's in a diaper today, but we'll put undies on him this afternoon at home. Will this be too confusing for him? Diapers at school and underwear at home?

2) while we're at home, we put him on the potty (like I had mentioned) every 30/45 minutes. Will this work against us? Meaning, are we essentially training him to go after those specific times? I hope I'm clear on that last question.

I had no intention of training him until the summer when I'm home with him - he kind of took it upon himself to do this.

I would talk to the teachers in the class. When DS was training, they had a bathroom in the class but I don't think they reminded him as much as I did at home.

I would hate to have a set-back.

I'd send in extra clothes too!

we sent B to school with a pullup - for some reason he did not want to use the potty at school. After he was accifdent free for 2 weeks at home i sent him in underwear o school. He is trained now but we used pullups when needed for long trips and sleep

it may have prolonged but he still trained on the early side
