Toddler Bedding Question

My DD is still in her crib and eventually we will convert it to the toddler bed so it will be awhile before we move her to a twin. In the meantime I want to change over room to make it more "girly". I want to have a pink/brown color palette but I am having a hard time finding bedding. I don't want to spend money on a baby bedding set because I don't need the bumpers and all the other stuff that comes with it. I obviously don't need twin size so I am kind of stuck.

Do you know a good place to buy bedding, specifically someplace to buy everything piece by piece so I can buy only what I need like the bed skirt, comforter, lamp, etc.???

THANKS!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Really cute Melissa.........thanks!! I guess I can probably tuck the bedding under. Do you think the twin bedskirts would work or would they look funny? I am going to look around at Walmart and BRU. Thanks!! Chat Icon

No offense, but I think toddler bedding is a waste of money IMO. We just used his crib set until we switched him to a twin bed.

Re: Toddler Bedding Question

you could totally use a twin skirt....just fold the top under so that its the length you need.

Well the thing is we don't plan on moving her into a twin bed for quite some time.........she is only 18 months. Aside from that we're trying for #2 and I would like to use the gender neutral bedding set I bought for my DD for the new baby down the road.

Since she won't be sharing her room I wanted to just make it a little more "girly" and cute for her now that she is getting older and put away her infant bedding for the next baby. I don' want to spend a lot of money..........in fact I would rather make the room cute with accessories then worrying about bedding. I just would like a cute comforter she can use at night since she currently is using the one from the baby bedding set. Chat Icon

That's what we did. The toddler bed cost me $70 and DS was only 18 mos. He was in NO WAY ready for a twin bed but I needed the crib and he was ready for the toddler bed - very easy transition, actually. He's been in it since August and will remain until sometime this summer so for us it was $70 well spent.

As for bedskirt, your bedskirt from the crib would fit - it's a crib mattress in a toddler bed, so that stuff is all the same size.

Re: Toddler Bedding Question

I bought DDs crib set at Behr's it is the Julia pattern (pink and brown) and I was able to buy only the pieces I want- I don't use the comforter so I didn't want to spend money on a set when I wouldn't use that. I think they sell of lot of patterns that way. Also BRU sells some pink/brown from Carters. I am looking to sell off the julia and replace it with the flower pattern. Now that I have some coupons I may just go and buy the valances now!
