Today really sucked!!!!
I got laid off from my job of 12 years. I'm 7 months pregnant and I have no job. They're doing major lay offs at my company and this is the first time since I've been there that its effected the office area. I guess I can consider this early maternity leave?

So sorry to hear this. DH company sent out emails that "head counts, will be reduced"
these times and this economy is HORRID!

What bad timing. That is so unfair to lay off a pregnant women. I hope you were able to negotiate a good severence package.

Yeah, when my company laid everyone off my friend was 2 days from maternity leave and lost her medical and everything! So soory you are going through that, its hard, but everything will work out in the end.

Thanks everyone. Its been a hard day. When you've been at one place for a long time, everyone becomes family to you. I really liked my job and the people that I worked with. It was a real pleasure working there. I think out of everyone there, everyone was shocked that I was gone. I did get a nice severance package, I just have a question about one of there employee option plans. I know my boss didn't want to get rid of me, I know that in my heart. He couldn't even look at me, he was that upset. I don't have any ill will, I know its not because I'm pregnant that I was let go. Right now, I'm just going to take time to focus on my pregnancy and in a few weeks welcome my daughter Shaylie to the world. I wish that I was going to be able to bring her to my office so everyone could meet her.
