Today is the first day I cried...
This is my last cycle before I start IVF. I took 100 mg of clomid cd 3-8 - to which I didn't respond. I took another round of 150 mg of clomid cd cd 11 - 16. I went in for another sonogram today it seems I only have mature follicles on the left side - which is blocked. So the doctor told me that this cycle was cancelled and to just try naturally - miracles happen.
I walked out of the office and had to call DH to tell him what happened - I just broke down crying. It killed me to hear him say "this cycle is cancelled."
I am such a stupid optimist. I really thought that I would get pg just before I was to start IVF. I feel like my body is betraying me.
I am so upset right now.

I am sorry they cancelled your cycle. I hated crying when i left the RE. I would insist on an IUI anyway!! People have done IUI's with no meds before. Stay positive.

I'm so sorry I was so hopeful we would get that mircale pregnancy too before we started IVF so every setback was crushing. It's definately a roller coaster of emotions.

Re: Today is the first day I cried...
I am so sorry. I know exactly how you feel, even though we don't I didn't have the same circumstances as you, I was also my last insemination was going to work before we started IVF. I know it's hard, but look at the positives IVF has a much higher success rate.
but don't give up hope, like the previous poster wrote you can still get pregnant with one tube blocked. I had read that your ovaries are so close and that the clear tube can get the eggs from either of the ovaries. good luck!

Re: Today is the first day I cried...
I don't understand why they cancelled your IUI with a blocked tube? My friend had an ectopic and they removed one of her tubes and she has gotten pregnant twice since then.
The open tube can pick up the egg from either ovary - the egg doesn't necessarily go into the tube closest to "it's" ovary.
Unless they felt that the chances were extremely slim that you would get PG and/or you have a high risk for ectopic with a blocked tube...that would make some sense, but they should have explained it to you.
Either way, the best thing to know is that your chances of success are much, much greater with IVF so it's something positive to look towards.

Re: Today is the first day I cried...
I am suppose to follow-up with my doctor on Monday and I sent him an e-mail today. So we'll see what he says.
Thanks for your responses. I feel so alone right now as DH is at work but reading your supportive posts have helped a ton.
