To me this is very reasonable, is there something wrong wiht it I am not seeing?
It says studio apt attached to main part of house. i am asuuming you could open that up and use it as part of your living space which we would do. its Lynbrook school, so why so cheap?

Probably because the bedrooms seem very, very small and the entire house needs to be updated. If you have the money you could probably do a lot of great things with that house.

I know a couple of people that live in that style house built in the 1920's in Lynbrook.
If the heating system says oil/steam its probably very old & not in great working order. That's a big project to update. Also the insulation in that house is probably nonexistent so its probably hard to keep warm.
Also if the plumbing is original it adds a big expense to updating the kitchens & baths because it will all need to be ripped out & replaced.
One of the families I know still has the old electrical outlets that don't have the spot for the ground so you can't plug anything modern into most outlets or you have to cut the ground off the plug. Some rooms only have one outlet. And the breakers pop constantly if they are all home. The walls are plaster with raised molding details & they got a price that was $$$$$ to upgrade the electric, so they've just been dealing with it.
These are all problems that can be solved but generally they require professionals & can really add up in cost.
That house has been listed a while & the price has dropped sereval times so I'm going to guess a potential buyer already paid for an inspection & the house failed miserably, they walked & now its priced to reflect that.
FWIW I know someone that paid 510,000 for a nearly identical house/lot in similar condition a few blocks away in 2005

The only thing I can think of is the 2nd kitchen is not up to code. I don't think you can have 2 kitchens in a one family house.

looks like the kitchen needs serious updates- and that can get super pricey. even the bedrooms & poss dining room look outdated. youre going to have to go and see it.

It looks like it needs a lot of work like others said. We actually looked at a similar house on the same street 2 years ago and the price was similar too. The bedrooms were super tiny, so was the kitchen.
