TMI...regarding 6 week check up...

ok, so I had 6 week check up app't Dr. said everything was good, stiches were healed and all and that I should come back for my pap in a few weeks so I did.

Same practice different doc (my favorite one in the practice) anyway, I told her the area is still sore where the stiches were and she said it looked irritated and gave me cream and than she said that I had some extra skin that could be removed (scar tissue,I am guessing?) and that it isn't a concern at all, it is up to me to have it removed it is just my preferance and if my DH feels it or not.

Has anyone heard of this? I don't know wwhat to do...

Re: TMI...regarding 6 week check up...

i know my epios area was very sore for awhile. Even now sometimes, it still feels sore at times at 6.5 month pp.

I blew one of my stitches on the top and that area took a bit longer to heal that the rest.

Maybe some of the skin wasnt incorporated in the stitches?

A friend of mine at work was telling me about her friend who has a vicious tear during birth, and when they stitched her they saw some extra skin and stitched it in a way that blood flow would not go to it and it would just die off and fall off. BUT THEY DIDN"T TELL HER THAT!! So one day she found a big piece of skin in her undies and thought she was falling apart!!

NOt to scare you, but if it's just extra skin, personally i would just leave it and worry about it after your done having kids.

Thank you Michele, I bet that is what happened. I will have docs keep an eye on it, maybe in another 6 months and then decide.
