TMI question***
Sorry for the TMI, but I have a really uncomfortable hemroid. I have had it for at least a month, and it just keeps on getting bigger. Now it really hurts. I have never had one before...how long do they take to go away? I know you can get them during delivery, so won't delivery just make this one worse
Any advice on what I can do? Thanks

Re: TMI question***
I've only had them once, and the tucks pads were a BIG help. I want to say that I used them a few times a day for about 2 weeks and they were gone. Mine were a store brand, but I do remember that the active ingredient was witch hazel, which I think you can just buy in a bottle if you'd rather do that.
If it gets any bigger, I'd definitely have your Dr. check it out. Not a fun experience, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Re: TMI question***
Definitely get a sitz bath that you can soak in using warm water (at any pharmacy). You should try to sit in it a couple of times a day for 10 minutes. It helps to take the swelling down. I also used the Tucks medicated pads & prep H pads. I mostly used the Tucks pads (TMI) to clean myself after going to the bathroom. You really don't want to have any *yuckies* near it to irritate it more & wiping with toilet paper is not very comfortable.
Yes, child birth will only make it more swollen so try to get a handle on it now.

Re: TMI question***
You poor thing. I honestly don't know what to tell you. Maybe you can ask your Dr. if its possible to numb the area locally and remove it? Hope someone can provide you with some useful info.
XOXOXO BOTB

Re: TMI question***
Thanks everyone...i have the pads and the cream, but i have to start to use them on a regular basis.
also, with the sitz bath, how do you do it? silly question, but i am not really sure.
i have a drs appt tom, so i will ask him, even though i find that pretty embarassing (i know ive already given birth once, but still)

Re: TMI question***
Oh i'm so sorry. i have had them when I wasnt pregnant. so far have not gotten one.
Do yourself a favor- go buy the tucks medicated pads and the cream.
I used to put the cream on about 4-5x a day to ease the itch and also wiped with the tucks pads every time i went to the bathroom- after wiping with a regular tp, then wipe with the tucks pad, it helps!
Good luck!
