TMI hemorrhoid KILLING me- will it ever get better???
So during my insane v-birth (I still haven't gathered the strength to write the story, lol) I got 3 hemorrhoids. Two have already pretty much disappeared and the third is bigger than ever, tight, bulging, almost pulsating!!! Really TMI- I would say it is like the size of a grape but a little longer and thinner.
I am in SO much pain that sometimes I just cry. Nothing over the counter is working- neither is the rx I got at the hospital. I took some metamucil but it gave me the runs (which made it worse) so now I am sticking to just softeners)
I have an OB appt on Tuesday so obviously I will show him.
I am wondering if I am looking at surgery or of there is hope that this thing will beat it soon. The donut makes it worse so I've been sitting on the boppy!!!
I seriously can not go on like this... My episiotomy was NOTHING compared to this!!

I had a bad one from sitting funny the week before I gave birth and it is almost gone-so there is hope-I used Prep H max strength. They can rubber band it off so it shrinks and falls off. I am sorry you are in pain!

It's probaby thrombosed (a blood clot). They can make a small incision to release the pressure. It's not the major surgery. But it will help.
You will need to see a colon/rectal surgeon. The whole thing takes about 30 minutes. You will have a local anesthesia. It's a PITA for 3 days but it won't take weeks to recover like if you do nothing.
You can also do sitz baths. That never really helped me.
Make sure to take colace too. It does help when you go to bathroom.
Get Tucks pads. Lay down with it on area for 20 minutes then remove.

OMG that sounds so good. I was DYING to give it the old needle myself last night when I couldn't take the pain anymore but I know that is a BAD BAD idea, lol.
TMI even more but I think it may rupture on it's own. When I Google ruptured hems it seems like a bad thing but idk why it's bad if Drs are incising them anyway... Seems like it would be just a natural form of the medical remedy...
Anyway it's making me nuts and to be honest even a bit depressed b/c I am sooo uncomfortable I need a lot of help with the baby.

i had a thrombosed one too.
It went away on its own after 3 days with the sitz bath.....
I hope your's does too.....

I had golf ball sized ones, so I can relate!
I was told that sitting on the donuts are actually not recommended anymore. They increase the pressure on the veins and make it worse.
They recommended hot sitz bath and I believe it really helped. Fill the tub with a couple inches of water, as hot as you can stand it (that's key), and sit in it for a while. Then, when you're done, dry thoroughly, and apply your treatment. I dabbed witch hazel on it then followed it with the numbing spray from the hospital.
Hope it goes away for you soon and you won't need additional treatment!

Add epsom salts to the sitz bath pat dray and apply witch hazel after the bath with a cotton ball. Allow to air dry. Apply a tucks wipe for several minutes. Let dry. Apply a combo pf prep H and numbing cream. Pop FOUR regular strength Motrin/IBProfin. That equals prescription strength.
I had them BAD after I had DD and this regimen helped me IMMENSLY within a day. Hope it works for you!!

Funny you said this b/c I totally said that to DH and quit the rubber donut. I told him it creates an "inner ring of pressure", lol. I've been sitting on the boppy- it's cushy and does a lot more for me. Plus I can open it up and make the hole extra wide.
