TMI: Constipation very late 3rd trimester

Are you KIDDING me?! I'm freaking 39 weeks, my EDD is Sunday!! I had constipation early on in my pregnancy, like around 12-15 weeks but that was it, then everything was fine.

Yesterday, I'm pretty sure I had hemorrhoids. It wasn't painful, there was just blood. But I at least was successful in going #2. My OB said hemorrhoids are very typical at this point and I'll probably have them post-partum. Fun.

Now I'm starting to feel like constipation is coming on...

Most of the time lately though, I don't go very often ...I just feel gassy and bloated, like I can get no relief. I thought close to your EDD you go the OTHER way! Like I said, I did at least go yesterday morning but I haven't since.

Did anyone else experience this? I'm guessing the constipation could be coming from the hemorrhoids, rather than the hemorrhoids being a result of the constipation (since I never really was constipated, KWIM?).

This suuuucks. Any advice? TIA!

Well, the baby is probably sitting in a position that is blocking your intestines, although it's pretty normal in the late third trimester. I would try getting on your hands and knees and letting your belly hang for a few minutes, as long as you can handle it. It'll take the pressure off your insides a bit. Also, lots and lots of water and call your doc and see if you can take colace. It'll help with the hemorrhoids.

Thanks so much!! Actually...I had success this morning too (sorry TMI )- yet 'in between' those successes I just feel so bloated, like constipation is coming on. But I will definitely try what you suggested! Thanks!

Just to offer that the grass is not much greener on the other side... I'd give anything for a good firm one! All I do all day is softies and I think I'm getting diaper rash!!!!! I had to break into baby's A&D stash!!!!!

I am 37 weeks and going through the same thing. When I do finally go, its only small little poops. So frustrating.
