TMI but please help... update with another question
I'm 11w2d. Last night at around 2am, I woke up with the most horrible stomach ache and diarrhea, which lasted about an hour. My stomach hurt so bad that i was sure something terrible was happening. I was ready to go to the ER but my amazing husband helped calm me down and eventually after the diarrhea passed, my stomach felt better. Today I just feel major heartburn and some queasiness, but alot of that might be anxiety.
Has anybody ever experienced anything like this? Is it a bad sign that something's wrong?
UPDATE: Talked to DH, who said that he had diarrhea this morning at work, not nearly as bad as I did last night and no cramps or anything.... I called the doctor before I knew this and they said not to worry, but now does this mean that it was something we ate? We ate all the same food yesterday. If we ate something that made us both sick, could it be an issue for the baby? Should I call again or just forget it. i don't want to be a crazy pregnant woman, but don't want to ignore something dangerous either!

YES - began around 10 weeks and still happens every few days at almost 14.5w.
I spoke with my doctor about it and he said -duing pregnancy, hormones effect digestion, mainly it slows. What I was experiencing was I would eat normally and since digestion would slow, i would almost get "backed up" and then all of a sudden, my digestive system would just push everything through AKA awful stomach pains and the runs
happens every 3-4-5 days which makes sense, its like a chain reaction that takes some time to build and occur

Re: TMI but please help
can't say too much about being pregnant with those problems, but I am a long time IBS sufferer and that is the story of my life. I will get constipated for a week or two and then will have terrible pains and diarrhea for a few hours or a day. Since constipation is so common when pregnant, I expect it to only be worse now.

Even if it was something you ate, it seems to be out of your system. Your baby is fine so I wouldn't worry. I don't think you need to call your dr again unless it returns, you start throwing up or get a fever.
That being said, if you're going to drive yourself nuts, call the dr for peace of mind. But again, I don't think it's necessary.
