TMI - but difference b/w discharge and fluids??

sooo we all know that it gets weird down there preggo...

im used to having more frequent, somewhat heavier discharge...the usual, clear to white, normal consistency...

BUT just now (and i think once before...maybe early last week??) I had a huge gush of wetness...like enough to be really uncomfy and have to change my underwear right after...

reason for the ?? is that it wasn't like normal discharge...not thick at all, completely clear...almost like water!

is this normal? a diff type of discharge?

i only worry cuz (well, i worry about everything) but SIL had issues with losing fluids in her first pregnancy...so that's what I think of...

oh and I'm 26 weeks.

I am 28 + weeks and I was in L&D today because of something similar plus bleeding. They told me its common to start getting a large amount of discharge at this point. They also said if it was amniotic fluid it would be like a gush and smell different. They measured all my fluids and I was okay but I swear I had lost a good amount before I got there. Oh the joys.

I have had huge gushes of water or whatever it is so much so I ran to the bathrOom thinking I was having gushes of blood or peeing myself! Scary. My amniotic fluid has been fine though. Don't know what it is caused from. Btw I am 13 weeks. Tc xo

ok yeah this sounds like what you're both saying...a gush, where you're like "omg i have to get to the bathroom and see what just happened!"

but I know this sounds so gross to say, but I did take a wiff LOL it didn't smell like anything....

so i guess that's what I should keep an eye (or nose lol) out for? the scent?

Having peed myself and gone to the Doctors and experiencing my water breaking, I hate to say I didn't feel any difference between the two. There is a difference in odor though. The mucousy discharge is totally different and just pregnancy related.
